Nail Polish from Black Female Owned Brand: OOO Polish

In June, I started looking for new nail polish brands to support after leaving Jamberry (their lack of response to Black Lives Matter was the tipping point for me). A list of Black-owned nail brands started going around Instagram, and I placed an order from OOO Polish. They were started in 2016 by a Black woman named Symantha who was looking for more nude polishes that looked good on dark skin. She hand makes her polish, and has expanded from nudes into lots of fun colors that look good on all skin tones!

Some of the links in this post are affiliate & referral links. If you use them to make a purchase, I will earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Many of the colors come in 2 sizes: full size at 15ml, or a mini at 8ml. She also will occasionally run sales on specific shades that may be slightly off in color but still the same high quality. If you’re looking for good quality nail polish that supports a small, Black-female-owned business, I definitely recommend OOO Polish!

*This post is not sponsored, I purchased these polishes myself and the brand doesn’t know I’m sharing swatches

Swatches

πŸ’° I Am A Goddess (lacquer) a dark violet base with scattered holographic sparkles mixed in

πŸ’° Ukachi (lacquer) a sheer purple/pink iridescent duochrome

πŸ’° Askia Musa (lacquer) a light neutral with a slight pink tone

πŸ’° Benin Version II (gel) a warm peachy brown neutral

I cheated a little with these swatches: I did the Benin gel first and then layered each lacquer on top, which made Ukachi more opaque and changed the true color slightly. You can see the real color and opacity in the picture where I’m wearing all 4 colors at once, I didn’t do any layering for that one since those were my initial swatches.

The colors all applied very smooth, even the one with glitter mixed in. I Am A Goddess and Askia Musa both went on with almost full opacity in 1 coat! These also didn’t chip off as quickly as some other polishes I’ve worn.

You can buy these colors and more at πŸ’° ooopolish.com.
