Sephora VIB Sale Recommendations – Spring 2021

It’s that time again! Sephora is holding their VIB Sale, where Beauty Insiders can save between 10-20% on new products. Here’s some of my makeup and skincare recommendations (all products I’ve actually used before), and a peek at what I’m planning on buying with the sale

Some of the links in this post are affiliate & referral links. If you use them to make a purchase, I will earn a commission at no additional cost to you.

Makeup Recommendations

πŸ’° Fenty Eaze Drop Skin Tint – I just bought this recently so I’ve only used it a few times, but I already know it’s one of my new favorite complexion products. It evens out my skintone without looking like I’m wearing makeup, and still gives my skin a pretty glow.

πŸ’° Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Foundation – This is my go-to foundation when I’m looking for more coverage but still want my skin to look natural and not cakey.

πŸ’° Sephora Collection Microsmooth Foundation – This powder is great on its own for light coverage, or you can use it as a setting powder over other foundation for a little extra coverage

πŸ’° Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara – One of my all-time favorite mascaras, Bad Gal Bang adds a bit of volume to my lashes without clumping them together, and still lengthens and separates so well.

πŸ’° Sephora Favorites Lashstash Kit – Honestly this is the best way to buy mascara in my opinion. Mascara should be thrown away every 3 months, so a mini size is a great way to not waste a lot of product if you follow that guideline. With this favorites kit you get a bunch of different mascara formulas to try, and a coupon for a free full size of whichever one you liked best!

πŸ’° Bobbi Brown Crushed-Oil Lip Gloss – If you want to splurge on a fancy lip gloss, go with this one. It adds the perfect amount of color without being too heavy on the lips, and it feels really moisturizing like a balm at the same time

πŸ’° Sephora Collection Ultra Shine Lip Gloss – Don’t want to spend a lot on a gloss? This one from Sephora Collection is a GREAT option! Still feels hydrating and not sticky, and comes in a bunch of pretty colors

Skincare/ Body/ Hair Recommendations

Hair

πŸ’° Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair Deep Conditioner – One of the best deep conditioners for my coily 4C hair! It really soaks into my hair and leaves it feeling so soft afterwards, but I always wait for a sale because it’s pricey and I’m heavy handed

Body

πŸ’° Nest Fragrance in Black Tulip – I LOVE this way this floral fragrance smells, which is really saying something because I typically don’t like florals. I don’t know a lot about fragrance notes or anything, but this is like a heavier floral that’s almost spicy? Idk but it smells great year-round – Nest has a few other really good smelling fragrances if this one isn’t your favorite, so definitely check out this brand

Skincare

πŸ’° Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Pads – these exfoliating pads are great at smoothing out your skin and gently exfoliating, and I love that the pads are individually wrapped so you can bring them with you! A pack of 30 costs like $90 so I’d definitely wait for the sale, or you could grab the mini size and try 5 pads for much cheaper. They come in three strengths: Gentle (with 3 exfoliating acids), Regular (with 5 acids), and Extra Strength (with 7 acids), so pick the one that’s right for your skin

πŸ’° Fenty Fat Water Toner – I wasn’t sure how I’d like this toner, but I really enjoy it! There’s niacinamide and witch hazel in the formula, which are great for combination skin like mine, and the bottle is huge so it’ll last you a while. My one complaint is the packaging – as cute as it is, it’s hard to squeeze product out of the top. You kind of have to let it just drip into your hands.

πŸ’° Sunday Riley Autocorrect Eye Cream – My biggest concerns with my undereyes are dark circles and puffiness, and this eye cream tackles both! It’s a cream texture that isn’t too rich, and it give the slightest bit of shimmer to help reflect light and minimize the look of dark circles. If your circles are genetic, an eye cream isn’t going to fix them 100%, but this one will help hydrate the area so they aren’t as pronounced

πŸ’° Fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Water – I’m obsessed with this mist! It smells like citrus but isn’t too overpowering, and leaves my skin feeling so hydrated when it was feeling dry. I like using this as a skincare step, and over my makeup if it looks too powdery, plus a little goes a long way so you’ll have the bottle for a while

πŸ’° Inkey List Niacinamide Serum – This serum is a great way to try niacinamide for the first time, or if you’re already used to the ingredient but don’t want to spend a lot of money to keep it in your routine. It’s a gel texture that quickly absorbs into the skin, and it doesn’t pill when layered with other products!

πŸ’° Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen – One of the best sunscreens Sephora offers! This gel texture leaves no white cast on my skin, and has SPF 40 so you know you’re being protected. They now offer a jumbo size tube, so stock up while you can!

πŸ’° Jack Black Lip Balm – I love a good lip balm in a tube because I don’t have to worry about dipping my finger in while I’m out somewhere. This one has a good formula that absorbs into your lips and doesn’t feel greasy, and there’s SPF 25 so you’re protecting that sensitive area of your skin that sometimes gets neglected!

πŸ’° Fresh Sugar Lip Balm – If you want to splurge on a fancier lip balm to keep on your nightstand, go with this one from Fresh. I’ve used the blood orange, lemon, and caramel flavors, and they’re all SO GOOD! A thick balm that stays on your lips for a while, and the blood orange leaves a slight pink tint. I wouldn’t bring this around with me, but it’s my in-the-house balm for sure

πŸ’° Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Balm – At the end of the day, the best way to remove makeup and sunscreen is by double cleansing. This balm is excellent at breaking down all the layers you put on your skin earlier in the day, and is still gentle around your eyes. I like using this first and then going in with a basic cleanser afterwards to really get my skin clean and ready for bed

πŸ’° Inkey List Tranexamic Acid – This product shouldn’t be just $15, it’s so good!! I like using this a couple nights a week because Tranexamic Acid (TXA) is shown to help fade dark spots and even out skin tone without the possibility of bleaching or whitening your skin! It’s a thick gel texture, so I don’t even need a moisturizer after applying this

πŸ’° Sunday Riley Luna – If you’re looking for a retinol product that’s good for beginners, you have to try this one. It comes in a lightweight oil that quickly absorbs into your skin, and is a low enough concentration to not cause any irritation. There’s also blue tansy included (one of my favorite skincare ingredients) which is great for balancing skin texture and tone

My Sephora Purchases

This time around, I’m only planning on buying three things. I’ve still got a good amount of products I’m working through in my Project Pan, so I’m just getting a couple refills and trying one new product

πŸ’° Fenty Gloss Bomb – This is a really good lip gloss that has a gorgeous pink color. It’s not sticky at all and it smells delicious, so I definitely wanted to get another one for my lip gloss collection

πŸ’° Sol de Janiero Bom Dia Bright body cream – I just tried a sample of this cream for the first time, and the smell alone has me hooked! It’s got a woodsy vanilla scent that’s warm & spicy (my favorite kind of fragrance), and it smells exactly like my favorite perfume: Elizabeth and James Nirvana Bourbon! That one is discontinued and kind of hard to find, so I’m absolutely buying a full size of this cream – and probably the body spray whenever that comes out next

πŸ’° Briogeo Deep Conditioner – I described this conditioner in the skin/hair section above, but I’m completely out and my dry hair could use some help! I like letting this sit on my hair overnight and then washing it out in the morning, leaving my hair so soft and much easier to detangle

That’s it for my recommendations this season! Are you planning on picking anything up from the sale?
